Corporate Functions apprenticeship

Realise your potential in business

Find a career that brings out your spark

Is Corporate Functions right for you?

An apprenticeship in one of our corporate functions teams is a fantastic way to dive into the world of business. You’ll get to see how we operate, manage teams, and keep everything running smoothly. We think bold, and we want you to do the same.

Strategic thinking is at the heart of our corporate functions careers. You’ll develop and gain a wide range of key skills such as problem solving, negotiating and knowing the market so you can progress, lead, or carve out your own niche.

We offer a number of different roles in this pathway.

These are all permanent roles from day one. During your first c18-22months (depending on your studies) you’ll spend 80% of your time gaining hands-on experience and 20% studying for your Apprenticeship qualifications.

Not exactly sure which role suits you best? Don’t worry, we actually want you to keep an open mind. Throughout the recruitment journey, we’ll assess where your strengths and interests lie, and what role fits you best.

Salary: £26,700
Duration: Permanent role from day one with two year learning programme.
Locations: Norwich, Sheffield, York

Applications for the Corporate Functions apprenticeship pathway are now closed.

Where you’ll be based

The Financial Crime apprentice opportunities are based in our Sheffield office and the Risk & Compliance roles are available in Norwich, Sheffield and York.

Wherever you’re based, the likelihood is you’ll balance time in the office with working from home. We call this Smart Working. Three days in the office and two days from home every week is typical, but this will vary between teams. When you join us, your leader will take time to discuss this with you, and agree what works best for you, your team, and the business.

Even with our Smart Working approach, it’s important to note you’ll still need to live within commuting distance of your contracted office. That way you’ll get to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, and get access to the right internal support networks to help you to succeed.

What you’ll need

To join us in any of these roles, you’ll need at least five GCSEs (or Scottish National 5s) at grades A*-C (9-4) or have equivalent qualifications. These must include English and Maths. Alongside that, we’re looking for people with good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. You’ll be a strong communicator with a genuine customer focus – someone who’s motivated to solve problems and seek out improvements. Just as importantly, you’ll be happy to listen and collaborate while feeling confident to challenge when it helps us achieve more for our customers.

In addition to meeting the above criteria, you must:

  • have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for at least three years by the start of the apprenticeship in September 2026.
  • be eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship and beyond
  • be able to commit to spend at least 50% of your working time physically in the country where your role is based. For example, if you live in Wales but apply for a role based in England, you’ll need to work a minimum of 50% of your working week in England
  • be available for full time work from 7 September 2026 when all our apprentice roles start.

Please note this job role isn’t sponsorable under the Home Office points based system so Aviva cannot provide visa sponsorship for this programme. To apply, you’ll need indefinite right to work in the UK. If this applies to you, we’d love to hear from you.
