Technology & Change Delivery Year In Industry Placements

We see your spark.

Find a placement that exceeds your expectations.

Technology and Change Delivery. See where your strengths can take you.

Tech’s at the heart of everything we do at Aviva. It helps us solve problems, create innovative new solutions, and put our customers first. If you’re curious about what tech can do – and excited by the idea of driving real change for our business and customers – then you’re in the right place.

We’ve got 12-month placements for students in their penultimate year at university.  Whichever placement you choose, you’ll gain valuable experience, build new skills and be supported by our brilliant technology and change community.

And the great thing is, you don’t need to be a tech expert (or even studying it) to make the most of it. We’re looking for curious minds and big picture thinkers – people who understand how powerful technology can be and are eager to make change happen.

Salary: £27,750
Duration: Fixed term contract – 12 months – 30 June 2026 – end June 2027
Locations: Norwich, York (see individual roles)

What you can expect

Our Year in Industry placements will put you at the heart of our technology and change teams, where you’ll gain invaluable on the job experience. As you grow your skills and experience, there’ll be lots of development opportunities which will give you the foundations you need to succeed.

Expect a workplace that’s all about people – you, your colleagues, and our customers. Tech plays a huge role here and you’ll see how it powers change and solves real problems every day, making a meaningful difference.

We want you to shine. We’ll empower you to be yourself, take ownership of your work and shape your development to be the best you can be. You’ll get real-world, hands one experience – the kind you can’t get from textbooks or a classroom. Show us what you can do, and we’ll keep giving you more opportunities to grow, take on responsibility and make your mark.

We’re looking to find and develop the technology and change delivery stars of the future. That’s why our placement programmes feed into our Graduate Programmes. After completing your placement, you might be offered a permanent graduate role starting with us in September 2028 once you’ve successfully finished your course.

A bit about us

We’re one of the UK’s leading insurance companies. We’re here to support people when it matters most – through every stage of life. Whether it’s protecting their car, home, health or life, or helping them save for their future and retirement, we focus on what truly matters to our over 25 million customers in the UK, Ireland, and Canada.

But we’re more than just an insurance company. We care deeply about our people, our customers, our communities, and the planet. That’s why we’re committed to helping our customers solve life’s financial puzzles – big and small. We’re with them in the moment, and we’re thinking about what they need for tomorrow too.

Our values – commitment, care, community, and confidence – bring to life what it means to work here.

You’ll be joining a culture where you’re trusted to think for yourself. Where you can feel comfortable speaking up, think creatively to solve problems and make real change. And where everyone works to bring out the best in each other so we can help build a more positive future for our customers and communities.

Where you’ll be based

We have Technology Change Delivery Year in Industry opportunities in our Norwich and York offices. Not all roles are available in every location, so you might need to be flexible about where you work and be willing to relocate if you don’t currently live within commuting distance of the relevant office. You can find out more about each location by clicking the links below.

Wherever you’re based, the likelihood is you’ll balance time in the office with working from home. We call this Smart Working. Three days in the office and two days from home is typical, but this will vary between teams. When you join us, your leader will take time to discuss this with you, and agree what works best for you, your team, and the business.

Even with our Smart Working approach, it’s important to note you’ll still need to live within commuting distance of your contracted office. That way you’ll get to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, and get access to the right internal support networks to help you to succeed.

  • be on a course that supports a placement year
  • be available to work full-time (35 hours per week) from 30 June 2026 to end June 2027
